Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Jarrah Labs Pty Ltd (ACN 698910888), an Australian company (“PuntWars”, “we”, “us”, “our”), handles your personal information in the PuntWars app and website (puntwars.com). PuntWars is a sports betting simulation game — no real money is involved — and is for users aged 18+.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we extend core rights (access, correction, deletion) to all users wherever they live.

1. What we collect

  • Account info you give us: email, username, display name. Your password is stored only in hashed form — we never see it.
  • Content you create: bets, posts, comments, league names, profile details.
  • Gameplay data: your simulated bets, virtual balances, XP, level, division, leagues, achievements, follows, and related activity.
  • Purchase records: in-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google, who handle your payment — we never receive or store your card details.
  • Device and technical data: device and OS type, app version, language/region, push token, IP address, basic logs, and crash reports.
  • Analytics and usage data: we may use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand how the Service is used, improve performance, find bugs, and measure engagement. These tools may collect app-usage, device, and feature-interaction information.

We don’t collect payment card numbers or government IDs, and we don’t intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information such as health, biometric, or similar data.

2. How we use it

We use your information to run your account and the game (competitions, leagues, leaderboards, social features), process purchases, send notifications and account emails, detect and prevent cheating, bots, multi-accounting, and manipulation of rankings, confirm the 18+ requirement, fix and improve the Service, and meet legal obligations.

Some gameplay is automated — for example, we settle your in-game bets against real results and rank, promote, or relegate players automatically. These outcomes affect only your standing in the game and have no real-world legal effect. If you think one is wrong, contact us and a person will look at it.

For EU/UK users (GDPR): we rely on performance of our agreement with you (to run the game), our legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure, fair, and improving), your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.

3. How we share it

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate PuntWars — including cloud hosting and authentication, in-app purchase processing (handled by Apple and Google, who process your payment; we never receive or store your card details), push-notification delivery, crash and error reporting, and analytics — under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. Separately, sports-data providers supply fixture, odds, and results information to us — we don’t send your personal information to them.
  • Other users — your username, profile, ranking, and anything you choose to share are visible to others as part of the social features.
  • Legal/safety — where reasonably needed to comply with the law or protect people’s rights and safety.
  • Business transfers — if the business is sold or restructured, subject to this policy.

4. Where data is held

We’re in Australia and our providers may store and process data in Australia, the US, the EU, and elsewhere. Where we transfer data internationally, we take reasonable steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to run the Service, then only as required to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent cheating and abuse. After that we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your choices and rights

You can access or correct your information, delete your account anytime in Settings (we’ll delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep), and control notifications in your device settings. EU/UK users also have rights to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.

7. Communications

We may send you service-related messages — about your account, security, purchases, gameplay, and leagues, plus administrative announcements. Where permitted by law and subject to your preferences, we may also send promotional messages, including referral and re-engagement nudges, by email or push notification. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time via the unsubscribe link, your device notification settings, or by contacting us; we’ll still send essential service messages.

8. Children

PuntWars is for users 18 and over and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we’ll delete it. Contact support@puntwars.com if you believe a minor has used the Service.

9. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and other reasonable measures. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — keep your login confidential. If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we’ll notify affected users and regulators as required by law.

10. App store disclosures

Our Apple “App Privacy” and Google “Data Safety” labels are intended to match this policy. If anything looks inconsistent, this policy governs — please let us know.
